This is the only wine they make for which they buy the grapes. They claim that they know the growers really well and keep on top of them. It is a pretty consistent wine with low alcohol. They like to say that with abv so low, they use it to "drink themselves sober".

They also produced a bumper crop of 2006 Beerenauslese. (strange weather with botrytis everywhere)30,000 liters were made. They will finally sell the last of it this year, so get it now. It is available in 187ml mini bottle.Matt Hnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14345350.post-28254866889908589142012-07-18T22:39:53.962-04:002012-07-18T22:39:53.962-04:00Both the the Dr. Loosen and the Josh are fantastic...Both the the Dr. Loosen and the Josh are fantastic. That riesling is a favorite in our household.

I agree the best way to find good value is to look at alternative grapes and unfashionable regions. There are some good bargains to be had on Italian and Spanish reds.

Also, I quite like the Concha y Toro Casillero Del Diablo Carmenere. I think it was about $9 at Publix last time I saw it.

I also highly recommend reasonably priced liquor. If you like whisky, there are some fantastic bourbons out there for less than $30. I recommend the Evan Williams Single Barrel. $24.99 at Total Wine.Johnny Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15591606639583779824noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14345350.post-88360860614003502812012-07-16T08:13:40.292-04:002012-07-16T08:13:40.292-04:00Once again...Las Rocas..Granache..Spain. $12 at t...Once again...Las Rocas..Granache..Spain. $12 at total wine.golburghnoreply@blogger.com
